POLAROID SX-70 (1974) BOXED & UNMARKED TESTED and WORKING

  
The SX 70 was designed by Henry Dreyfus and. Examples of its revolutionary design can be found in design museums the world over. It took the fancy of artists such as Ansel Adams, Andy Warhol and David Hockney and was used extensively by fashion/glamour photographers like Helmut Newton. It is considered as "the King of Polaroids". This one has a serial number of M407066504, confirming it's birthday as December 2, 1974. It is the second version of the "Mark 1" with a split-image focussing screen.

This model also has real leather panel inserts, unlike the tacky plastic on later versions. The camera shows no sign of being used at all until I tested it, and is still in its styrofoam packing inside the original box with the instructions. The leather panels are free from any marks and the the metallised surfaces are unblemished. Inside, the rollers are clean with no film residue at all.

The box shows slight signs of yellowing, but is intact and undamaged. One of the flimsy top hinged sections of the styrofoam packing has snapped, but it remains serviceable. The'bellows' and the folding viewfinder shutters are in excellent condition with no light leaks.
